Fire erupts in the bus at the metro station as the engine overheated.

Rawalpindi: Flames leaped and engulfed the bus at Rehmanabad Metro Station on Muree road, as the engine overheated. No casualties were reported as passengers successfully escaped from the bus.

According to The News, Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMTA) suspends Metro Bus Service (MBS) operations on Murree Road. In addition, the authority issued a report to the Punjab government regarding funding for bus and metro track maintenance. They warned if the management does not provide funds for maintenance, buses will catch fire in the coming days.

However, the service will remain operational from IJP Station to the Islamabad Secretariat Station and Faiz Ahmed Faiz Bus Station to Islamabad International Airport, INC Pak.
